Recent hands-on experience with PNC (updating and querying), providing tangible evidence of familiarity with its operations.

Collaborative mindset with a strong ability to work effectively as part of a team

Proficient problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to make well-informed and decisive decisions.

Description of Department:

The PNC/D Bureau supports the City of London Police by ensuring the efficient management of critical law enforcement databases, including the Police National Computer (PNC), National Law Enforcement Database System (NLEDS), and Police National Database (PND). Our primary focus is on maintaining the accuracy and currency of information and intelligence within these systems, adhering closely to national guidelines, HMIC recommendations, and legal statutes.

We are responsible for promptly addressing both external and internal requests for accessing and analysing data within the PNC and PND. This includes providing additional information related to these databases in alignment with internal policies, national guidelines, and relevant legislation.

The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.

This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.
