Communications & Engagement Officer

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced communications professional to join our Corporate Communications and Engagement Department. 

We are currently looking for a full time Communications & Engagement Officer to join our busy and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a corporate communications role, for example internal communications, marketing, public relations or events management.   

The right person for the job will have good organisational skills with the ability to manage several projects and conflicting timescales with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, delivering creative, innovative and effective communications.  

We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest in public affairs and the national news agenda. An awareness of media law would also be desirable, as would a good knowledge of new and emerging communications channels. 

You will be confident, articulate and able to work well under pressure with a pro-active and creative approach to communications, managing your own workload and working under a minimum degree of supervision. Your personal self-assurance will enable you to liaise with people at all levels across the organisation and with external partners and stakeholders using appropriate tact and diplomacy.   

You will also have strong all-round communications skills and be educated to a minimum of A-level or equivalent.

Interviews will take place at Wiltshire Police HQ in Devizes on Tuesday 4 June and Thursday 6 June. 

The position is agile with the ‘normal place of work’ being Police HQ, Devizes. Agile workers also have flexibility to work from other stations within the Wiltshire force area or from home depending on demand and business requirement.  

Please note that all candidates for positions at Wiltshire Police who are successful will be required to undertake and clear vetting before being formally offered a position.
