Head of People Operations

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Head of People Operations. Cleveland Police are seeking a highly experienced HR professional to drive the development and delivery of the organisation’s People Strategy. You will be accountable for all people operations activity, delivering and improving services, building capability, improving the experience of our workforce and external stakeholders and driving service efficiency.

If you are a dynamic leader, with extensive experience of delivering people focused transformation change projects and building strong partnerships this could be the role for you. This is a fast paced and varied position where you will deputise for the Director of People and Development (P&D). Working closely with the Director of P&D and the HR Senior Leadership team you will develop and deliver force strategy. Amongst other responsibilities you will lead on strategic organisational change programmes, develop business cases and lead on key governance meetings. You will partner with operational policing Command and Enabling Services senior leaders, acting as a strategic change agent in delivering the people strategy, lead on the employee relations strategy and continually review the HR operating model to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

You will possess sound analytical skills, making decisions based on consultation and expertise, whilst also being able to influence others; articulating rationale to gain agreements and challenging assumptions where necessary.
