ARV Constable - Transferee/Rejoiner

Cleveland Police are excited to offer an external transfer opportunity for Authorised Firearms Officers (AFO’s) trained to ARV standard, currently serving within a Home Office force. Applications are therefore invited from officers at the rank of Constable who have successfully completed their initial firearms course and requisite refresher training to join the Cleveland Police MATRIX Team.

Please note that this is a dual role department where ARV Officers are expected to undertake the role of a Road Policing Officer when not deployed to firearms related incidents.

This is a unique development opportunity for motivated officers who want to be part of a highly skilled specialist operations unit across an extremely busy and challenging force area. To be eligible to apply candidates must:

· Have successfully completed their Initial Firearms Course (IFC).

· Be trained to ARV standard

· Hold a current Advanced driving permit. Applicants with Standard driving permits will be considered if all other criteria is met*.

· Hold valid personal safety/1st aid training and fitness test to level 9.4 as part of role requirement.

* If you have held an ARV post within last 3 years (but no longer posted) please provide details of course dates, any specialist training completed and time spent as an ARV officer within current or previous force. These candidates and those with only a standard driving authority will be considered on a case by case basis.
