FIMU Assessor (Police Constable) - CTPSE

The Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) is an excellent entry point to a career in CT Policing, with regular operational engagement with every other department in the region. The team is responsible for receiving, processing and analysing all of our incoming intelligence across the South East.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Constable to join this unique team and be at the heart of counter terrorism investigations. Day to day responsibilities will see you receiving intelligence, assessing this intelligence and directing operational activity in accordance to this to either enhance understanding or mitigate threats.

We are seeking to appoint officers who are professionally curious, motivated problem-solvers, and those interested in protecting our national security.  Many of the skills needed are found and nurtured in other areas of policing, for the rest we give extensive training.

Our team provides 24/7 coverage for the region through an on-call rota so requires the team to work to a shift pattern.

During times of critical threat our officers may travel to other regions of the UK to support a national response. Additionally, this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain  vetting level DV and have resided in the UK for the past 10 years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.  In addition you must be a British National and able to provide documentary evidence of this.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
